Periwinkle Pottery is the creative sister to Periwinkle Bistro — inspired by our love of handmade moments, joyful colour, and the magic of making. Located just a short stroll from the bistro, our studio is a welcoming hub where imagination flows and everyone is encouraged to get stuck in.
We offer a wide range of ceramic items ready to paint — from mugs and plates to animals, trinket boxes, home décor and keepsakes. No experience needed — just come along, pick your piece, choose your colours, and let your creativity do the rest. We'll take care of the glazing and firing, and let you know when your masterpiece is ready to collect.

Frequently Asked Questions.
How much does it cost to paint?
There is a studio fee which covers the cost of the paint, glaze and firing in the kiln which is set at £5.50 per painter and you can paint as many items as you wish in your time slot.
The items to paint are individually priced from £8.00 upwards depending on what you choose to paint.
How long will it take my items to be ready to collect?
Your pottery must be dry from painting then hand dipped in glaze, dried, foot wiped and loaded into our kiln for firing. The firing itself takes a couple of days before items can be cooled, unloaded, and prepared for collection.
You will be quoted a date for collection on the day of your session. This may vary on a couple of things such as how full the kiln is and what our current firing days are.
Please let us know if you require your pottery for a certain date and we will try our best to have them ready for you however, it really depends on how much pottery there is going through the kilns and what time of the year it is!
We cannot collect our items when they are ready, can you post?
We prefer you to collect your items, but we do understand this is not always possible and do offer a postage service within the UK with Royal Mail tracked delivery. This costs £7.00 for most items and we will carefully wrap and post your items to you when they are ready and have been fired in the kiln.
Please let us know when you have finished painting, and we can add this to your receipt and get the postage address.
Please note: Whilst it is very rare and we take every care to wrap items as safely as possible and send thousands of parcels a year there is always a risk when sending fragile items through the post and something may break or go missing. We accept no responsibility for breakages, damaged parcels, or loss and in the event of this happening we will attempt to get compensation from Royal Mail and if successful we will be able to issue a parcial refund.
We would always prefer for you to collect your pottery instead, but safely send hundreds of parcels a year so this is always an option!
Do I need to book?
We prefer it if you do book a table with us, it guarantees you a table for the time slot you need especially at busy times.
To book please call the studio on 01834 818707 or pop in. When booking please let us know the total number of people at the table, not just those who are painting.
At the time of booking please let us know if you would like to do any hand, paw or footprints and please let us know if you are bringing a buggy, wheelchair, dog, or require a highchair and we can make sure you have the most comfortable and suitable table.
How do I collect?
We will advise approximately when they will be ready for collection when you pay for your items and then we will message you on the contact number you have provided on the receipt when they are ready.
Please then come to the studio with your receipt and order number to collect your items. They will then be given to you wrapped and packed for you to safely get them home.
I am not very good at drawing/not very artistic, can I still get involved?
Of course! This is a fun, relaxing and creative experience for everyone and anyone, from babies to adults and even your dog can get involved too! (printing paw prints is always fun!) We have a selection of stamps and sponges, and we can also help with fingerprints and baby's hand/footprints! The possibilities are endless!
How long do I have to paint?
Our times in the studio for sessions are available in 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours slots. Please let us know at the time of booking if you feel like require longer than two hours or if you are painting something small or with younger children typically under the age of 8, we recommend the shorter time slots. If you are wanting to paint a large item or do a few items we recommend the 2 hour slots.
